Full-Stack Software Engineer

Valeriy Chupurnov

Manavgat, Antalya, Türkiye

I build web interfaces and the tooling around them: TypeScript, React and Vue on the front end, Node.js underneath, CI/CD in between. Since 2018 at Yandex. On evenings — Rust and three.js.

Portrait of Valeriy Chupurnov

In short

Eighteen years in software, most of them in the browser. I like interfaces that feel quick and code that is easy to change six months later.

Author of Jodit, an open-source WYSIWYG editor, and a few jQuery plugins that are still in use: datetimepicker, autocomplete, flipcountdown.

I live in Manavgat on the Turkish coast. Before that — Ufa, where I studied computational and applied mathematics.

Pet project

World 2.0

A deterministic ecosystem simulator written in Rust with a three.js viewer. Herbivores, predators and plants share one world; every animal is driven by a tiny neural network — 59 inputs, 96 hidden neurons — trained first by imitation, then by a genetic algorithm.

The same simulation runs live on this site, and there is a short presentation about how it came together.
